I graduated from Orangefield High School in southeast Texas in 2001. In high school, I played many sports, but developed a true passion for cross country and track. While I did not compete in college, I carry this passion to this day. During my college years, I joined a local running club, and ran my first marathon in 2002. Around this time, I also fell in love with teaching and helping students find success. I earned a BA in history from Texas A&M University in 2005, and began teaching middle school in January 2006. By 2008, I was coaching and teaching at my alma mater, Orangefield High School, when suddenly I felt called to serve a greater cause. I enlisted in the United States Navy and served a short time stateside. In 2012, I made my way to Lake Travis High School and have been here ever since. I have coached LT athletes in basketball, volleyball, cross country, and track. I served as XC Assistant and Track Coordinator from 2016-2018. During that time I helped our men’s team win district in both sports, and assisted with several state contenders including one cross country runner, a high jumper, a thrower, a hurdler, and a middle distance runner. Although I stepped away from coaching to earn my master’s degree in education administration, I could often be found in the crowd at meets, and kept up with the incredible athletes in our programs. I am thrilled to begin my 10th year at Lake Travis High School in a new and exciting role and to continue building the cuLTure of LTXCTF!
